Back to Servant Leadership

I tend to re-read my favorite business books- ones that have stood the test of time. Recently, I pulled Servant Leadership off the shelf. Originally out in the late 1970's, the topic seems to be making a comeback- I see Tom Peters trumpeting it here.

Servant leadership is more about supporting and guiding others, and less about charismatic CEOs.

This concept is becoming more compelling to me now- I see my role as Director of Operations at the NEA as responsible for personal development and capacity-building in individuals.
